RE: TX Registration Fees

While you are there, click on the "resources" in the menu at the top of the page where their forums are and then on "booklets" on the left of that page and you will find a free booklet that you can down-load titled "How to Become a Real Texan." You can't become a Texan....... you have to be born here for that :) Dubya

RE: Will the Ford Super Duty Survive?

There will always be a market for HD trucks. Farming and Construction relies heavily on them. The only one I see that would be in jeopardy is the F450 pickup. Their one heck of a truck, but outside of pulling large RV's, I just dont see much of a market for them. Come to Texas... most utilities/phone companies/contractors are using them now..... heck, I drive one at work I drive and most of the new ones are either 350/450's Dubya

Please remember who travels pulling a PU and who doesn't. Enough said! Sorry for my cynicism That explains it! He's from Houston... although I don't have a clue what he's talking to! Dubya

RE: Talk about trimming branches- Pic.

Geeze, where they literally "logging" in the middle of the campground, or was this a diseased tree that needed to be taken down for safety reasons? Either way, I would have told them VERY STRONGLY (as in physically taking the saw away from him) to shove off until tomorrow. You ever see what happens when a tree felling goes wrong? :E Paul, Removing "danger" trees from the campground. It was a state park and the ranger was right there. Yup... you guessed it. He said, "no problem". As for (physically taking the saw away from him).. all three guys on this crew had arms bigger around than the tree! My arms are more like yours....mouse size. So, they didn't say "que?" dubya

RE: Fleetwood vs Starcraft vs Jayco

The same dealer carries all three. I spoke with the salesperson and shop manager at the last show. It's a small dealership, which I like. I gues my main question is: is the Fleetwood worth a $1000. more than the Starcraft. Someone pointed out the FW have metal/aluminum construction, where as the SC has wood. FW also has a black and grey tank. These are the things I'm looking for :) The Niagra and 3612 are the same floorplan. Thanks again Dubya

RE: Fleetwood vs Starcraft vs Jayco

I recently looked at a new '08 Rockwood HW276 and did not really see any buid quality difference from the new '07 Fleetwood Niagara I looked at last year. Then again I have never owned a PUP and may not know what to look for. Please elaborate on the build differences between the Rockwood and Fleetwood. traveling, I've not bought one before either. Were going from a tent to a pup. The problems I saw- which were on two of the three displays were: Floor unlevel, it look as the floor itself was sagging between the cross members. You could see outside on the angle cuts(45's) on the door. This was the aluminum part of the door Gaps between the cabinets and walls. Evidently they were supposed to use trim... atleast they did on the opposit end Lots of saw dust and a couple holes in the backs of cabinets. These were just what I found looking at one at a show. Ofcourse, we looked at a $60,000 5th wheel, that looked like a wood pecker attacked the wall on it! Dubya

RE: Fleetwood vs Starcraft vs Jayco

I believe the bottom line is the local dealer that will take care of your warranty issues. I was a long time Coleman fan but did switch due to the customer serive. All of the Trailers have good and bad. Thats the good/bad of it. The local dealer carries all three, with another Jayco dealer 40 mls away. There is a Rockwood dealer about 40 mls away, but after seeing the quality(lack of) at the show, I've shied away from them. Fleetwood vs Starcraft vs Jayco

Ok, I've almost made my decision between the FW and SC. Both have models with the same floor plan - Niagra and 3612. Jayco had a 14HW at the spring show, which I like, but don't really remember. My question: Is there that much difference in the Fleetwood and Starcraft? I know the Niagra has a gray tank and black, does the 3612? I found the Niagra for $14,500(Peco) with a 800 mile drive(mid 16k local). The 3612 is $13,800 with sway/controller. I know Fleetwood and Starcraft owners say theres is better, but is the Fleetwood worth around $1,00 more? Me, I like both. I'd like to know what one has, the other hasn't or whats better. Thanks dubya

RE: New Jayco via RV Direct / Des Moines RV - Delivery Report

especially when we are in Iowa and YOU are not, wasn't a dealer in the BIG state of Texas??? Yup, theres a couple. However, at the last show, the price of a Jay Feather 311 was "Show Priced" at $25,995. I came home, got a quote option for option from RVD. It was $5,000 cheaper. I know where I'll be going in June!! Dubya

RE: Spree 318bhs

The one in Ocala, FL at 33 is the one I am looking at. Anyone see much of a difference compared to the others to be that much more msrp? I would email each dealer and ask for an options list on that trailer with the MSRP and their best price! cdubya

RE: Manufacturers in Money Trouble

I am a vendor at RV shows all over the country. In January and February of this year we vended at four RV shows in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio, Texas., and I can tell you that attendance at ALL of the shows was down somewhere close to 50%...the economy has people scared and they are NOT going to shows, no matter what RVIA says!! Hmmm, I musta been there when the 50% was. Almost to crowded to walk down most isle..... or it could have been the ppl standing in them talking!. I went to both Dallas and Fart Worths shows, maybe Ft Worth was less crowded, but Dallas was packed! Dubya
